THE NUTCRACKER
The Nutcracker has been a beloved part of QCB's history for 25 years. Annually, students, guest dancers, parents, and other Helena community members present a truly grand and spectacular show. This experience is crucial to the development of aspiring professional artists. Dancers gain experience in many varieties of roles in the show, as they grow and develop their artistry year-by-year.
The process begins with auditions held in August. Everyone in the Helena community is invited to audition for a chance to perform in various roles in the party scene and battle scene. Year-round dancers audition for more technically demanding roles that help give them professional performance experiences. After careful consideration, dancers are placed into roles best suited for them. As famous director Constantin Stanislavski once said, "There are no small parts, only small actors." Each cast member in The Nutcracker is valued and an important piece in creating the incredible production that the Helena community loves.
