Madison McCarthy has studied with Queen City Ballet since its inception in 2001. Madison has attended summer intensives at the American Ballet Theatre in Orange County,California;Joffrey Ballet in Chicago;and at the International School of Ballet in Denver. Madison has received scholarships from the Montana Dance Arts Association and the Youth Arts in Action. She received the Queen City Ballet Award of Excellence in 2008. Madison participated in and was a final round competitor at the American Ballet Competition in Miami,Florida in 2008 and she has also participated in the Youth America Grand Prix,placing third in her division in 2006 and in the top ten dancers in 2007. Madison has performed in Queen City Ballet’s productions of The Nutcracker as the Columbine Doll,Mirliton Lead,Spanish Lead,Party Girl,Black Sheep,Snow Crystal and Flower Corps;in Cinderella as Jester and Spring Fairy Attendant; and in Swan Lake as Neopolitan,Four Little Swans and a Big Swan.
